The overload of pumpkin spice in everything started sometime in early August, but the temps have dropped, and the leaves are turning, so it’s finally time to get ready for spooky season! Looking for tips on decorating for the holiday, crafting the perfect costume, or getting into the spirit with activities? Read on for some Halloween-spiration offered throughout the borough.
Decorating your home and creating costumes for the season doesn’t need to break the bank! You can dress up your home and yourself on a budget at, The Art of Recycle and ReUzit on State with nearly-new options to get you ready for the holiday. For young DIY-ers, The Art of Recycle is hosting a Monster Mash event on October 20, where little ones create their own creepy monsters!
Mark your calendars for some Halloween fun for the whole family! Learn how to decorate spooky-themed cookies during Laura the Cookie Lady’s Halloween Cookie Decorating Classes! Offered throughout October, this class will show you how to pipe the perfect decorations onto delicious cookies that you can take home and enjoy. For teens ages 13-18 looking for fun on Halloween night, don’t miss Ephrata Public Library’s Teen Murder Mystery, where participants play a key role in a murder mystery and see if they can figure out who the killer is! If you’re looking for something a little more relaxing, head over to The Style Studio for a Pumpkin Chai facial.
Are any of Ephrata’s historical landmarks haunted? You can start looking for some answers at the Cloister Cemetery Tour on October 23. Then, continue your hunt for the spooky and surprising by taking a self-guided walking tour of the borough with our Uniquely Ephrata App. While ghost sightings aren’t predictable, you’ll definitely learn about Ephrata’s past while taking advantage of the cool autumn weather and falling leaves. The big event – Trick-or-Treat! Ephrata’s Trick-or-Treat night is scheduled for October 31, from 6-8 PM.
