Ephrata’s revitalization isn’t happening by accident. The murals brightening our streets, the bike park and bike share drawing riders from across the area, the businesses being recruited to the area, the events that make downtown feel alive — all of it takes hands, hearts, and people who genuinely care about where they live. That's where you come in. Mainspring's volunteer program just got a refresh, and we think you're going to like what you see.
Built Around You
The program is designed to meet you where you are. Not everyone has the same schedule, the same bandwidth, or the same way of contributing — and that’s exactly the point. Whether you want to roll up your sleeves for a few hours at an event, take on a behind-the-scenes planning role, or step into a leadership position that shapes what Ephrata does next, there’s something here for you. Let’s take a look:
The Committees: Where Long-Term Impact Happens
Our committees are the planning engines behind what Mainspring does, and they’re designed to be community-led. We’re looking for people to step into roles where they can shape what happens — not just react to it. Mainspring provides support, coordination, and resources, but the energy comes from the community.
If you’re someone who loves getting into the details, thinking ahead, and seeing a project through from first conversation to final execution, a committee role might be your perfect fit. Current committees seeking volunteers include:
Day-Of and On-Call Volunteers are Equally Essential
If your schedule is tighter or you simply prefer to plug in when and where you’re needed, we have plenty of meaningful ways to contribute. Day-of event volunteers are the friendly, energetic presence that makes our events feel welcoming — setup, check-in, logistics, tear down, and everything in between. And for those who have a flexible schedule and want to help in smaller bursts, on-call administrative tasks like stuffing envelopes, folding tees, or other fun initiatives are genuinely valuable work that help to keep us running.
No role is too small. Everything adds up to big gains for the community.
