Plan Ahead for Your Christmas in Ephrata

Posted on July 20, 2022 by Lisa Willwerth

We are gearing up to make 2022 the best holiday season the Borough has ever seen!

Although we are at the tail end of July, it’s never too early to start preparing for Christmas in Ephrata! Our plans are already underway this summer to make the 2022 holiday season the best yet. Read below for a few key dates to mark on your calendars and how you can get into the holiday spirit this summer!

Holiday Ornament Sale

Right now, at the Mainspring of Ephrata headquarters, you can celebrate past holidays in Ephrata during our ornament sale! We have ornaments commemorating previous Ephrata Christmas celebrations, so you can pick up a few that represent years that are special for you or your family. Get two ornaments for $5 at the Mix and Match ornament sale, which will run until the end of July.

Tree Lighting & Santa’s Arrival

Santa makes his local downtown debut on November 25th! Join the Ephrata Community the day after Thanksgiving to celebrate the official start of the holiday season. In addition to lighting the tree downtown, children will have the opportunity to meet Santa and sign his big book, which has appeared at this event for over 40 years!

If you miss Santa on the 25th, don’t worry! He will be at the Whistle Stop Plaza on Fridays from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, beginning on December 3 and ending on December 17, 2022. A visit with Santa is free of charge, and your little ones can drop a letter in the North Pole Mail Express mailbox located at the side of the station any time Santa is away.

Ephrata Holiday Market

On November 26, 2022, check off your holiday shopping list at our 2nd Holiday Crafters Market! This event is a perfect opportunity to support local businesses on Small Business Saturday while you check gifts off of your holiday shopping list. Local crafters and businesses will be at the Whistle Stop Plaza from 10 AM to 2 PM, selling wares and filling Downtown Ephrata with holiday spirit!

Jingle Bell Tour

The Jingle Bell Tour is back this year for the ninth season! The tour will launch on Friday, December 9th, with Family Night, and on December 12, Adult Night commences, which includes a cash bar and hors d’oeuvres will begin. The event will be an outdoor guided tour of Ephrata homes and businesses that will be decorated for the holiday season. Tickets for Family Night are $12 per person and $15 per person for Adult Night.

If you want to experience the tour on your own, download the Uniquely Ephrata Tours app! The app has all the information about the Jingle Bell Tour, so you and your family can go at your own pace while the holiday lights are still up.

Stop by Mainspring today to pick up some ornaments, and pull out your calendar to mark these important holiday happenings. You won’t want to miss out on all of the holiday fun this winter in Ephrata!
