First Saturdays – Back to the Books!

Mainspring is excited to expand our First Saturday Party on the Plaza events by featuring Party on Main all summer long. Seems like Summer just started, but the first day of school is right around the corner and Mainspring and the Ephrata Public Library have you covered.

Join us on Saturday, August 5 from 2:30-4:30 for a unique book walk, AND get started with your school supplies while you’re at it.

Here’s how it works:

• Start at the Whistle Stop Plaza where kids pick up their backpacks and maps of participating businesses.
• Kids and their parents follow a dedicated path through participating downtown businesses, stopping to read pages from selected books posted in Main Street windows, as they go.
• Participating businesses will be handing out back-to-school supplies to kids as they progress along the route.
• Kids 12 and under will receive a copy of Where the Wild Things Are; Kids 12-17 will receive a copy of the new One Piece book, Vol. 123 Warrior of Liberation
• Kids of all ages are invited to hear a special reading of “Where the Wild Things Are” at 3:00 and 4:00 at the Visitor’s Center at the Whistle Stop Plaza, where one of the book’s characters will be on hand to meet and greet the kids!
