The 5th Annual Ephrata Brewfest is back! On June 25th from 1–4 PM, The Whistle Stop Plaza in downtown Ephrata will be bustling with beer lovers ready to taste the carefully crafted elixirs of over 20 breweries while enjoying food trucks and live entertainment. Read on to learn about everything Ephrata Brewfest offers.
Tickets for the Brewfest are available for drinking participants at $40 and designated drivers for $10. We want to encourage safe travel to and from the event, so designated drivers will also be given special amenities in addition to the reduced ticket price. No one under the age of 21 will be admitted to the event. All ticket holders will have access to unlimited bottled water. The cost of a ticket for drinking participants includes a complimentary tasting mug and wristband, allowing you to sample brews from all participating breweries. Food is not included in the ticket price.
Tickets must be purchased prior to the event and are available online or at the following locations around the borough: The Ephrata Public Library, Mainspring of Ephrata, and the Ephrata Recreation Center.
This year over 20 different breweries are participating in the Brewfest, offering a wide variety of brews from all over Pennsylvania! In addition to beer, Brewfest will also include offerings from distillers, a meadery, and kombucha! A list of participating businesses can be found online, with more announced via Facebook as the event nears.
Food trucks will be offering some delicious bites to enjoy with your brews! Piper Bell’s BBQ and Crave are a few participating food vendors, with more announced closer to the date. Brewfest attendees will also enjoy live entertainment at the Whistle Stop by Mark DeRose and The Dreadnoughts.
The newest addition to the Brewfest lineup is a Steinholding Competition through U.S. Steinholding Association! Participants in the competition must hold their stein with proper form (as described in the rules) for the longest without spilling their beer or adjusting their arm or hand position on the stein. Two competitions will be held, one for men and one for women. Both events will take place during the Brewfest at 2 PM Entry fee is $20/person and can be purchased while you are buying entry tickets.
The entry fee includes an official U.S. Steinholding competition mug and 1 liter of beer to fill it! If you want to prepare for the competition, check out the training tips offered by US Stein Holding! Complete rules and regulations can also be found on their website, along with additional information about the association.
