Experience fun for the whole family at Ephrata's one-of-a-kind bike park!
Whether you are an advanced mountain biker or just looking for a fun day spent outdoors with your kids, head on over to the Ephrata Bike Park at Heatherwood for endless outdoor fun! The park is free to all visitors, and it is the first of its kind in Pennsylvania. It includes a beginner and advanced trail totaling 1.5 miles, a pump track, two bridges, dirt jumps, and three skill areas for bikers of all ages and experience levels! Plus, it is located just off the Warwick to Ephrata Rail Trail (WERT), so you can easily head down the trail for a longer ride once you are done at the park.
The one and a half miles of trails offer a variety of terrain to keep things interesting for riders. The beginner trail features skill areas where cyclists can practice their techniques with space to allow other bikes to ride through. The advanced course allows more seasoned mountain bikers to test their skills in a loop, making it easy to ride through numerous times!
The Park also features a pump track, where riders can practice getting some air! If you are unfamiliar with a pump track, it is a dirt path that follows a loop of moguls, banked turns, and hills that give the ride a roller coaster effect. Riders can gain control and speed by pumping rather than steady pedaling. Thrill seekers at the pump track can go at their own pace and learn how to navigate the turns, curves, and hills.
If you are driving to the bike park, parking is located at the intersection of Queen Street and the WERT. Cyclists can access the park through the beginner trail that connects to the WERT. Visitors can then head south to the pump track or east to traverse the beginner trail or access the advanced courses. The park is open every day from 7 AM to 9 PM, rain or shine!
If you are looking for a fun activity that is perfect for the whole family, check out the bike park today! The park is a great place to get some exercise, try something new, and create new family memories this summer.
