Mainspring of Ephrata Wins Townie Award for Creation of Ephrata Unleashed Dog Park!

This journey began with an idea from the Ephrata Middle School, recognizing the need for a dedicated space for our furry friends. Mainspring of Ephrata stepped forward, forming the Ephrata Unleashed Dog Park Committee and spearheading the project. The committee then reached out to key partners – the Borough of Ephrata, Ephrata Area SD Middle School, Ephrata Rec Center, PA Government, and the Shade Tree Commission. Each played a crucial role, from securing funding to overseeing construction and planting, and maintenance.

A Community Effort Builds a Pawsome Place

The 40,000-square-foot Ephrata Unleashed Dog Park boasts separate sections for different sized breeds, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all pups. Water fountains, waste stations, ramps, benches, and even doggy Wi-Fi access points create a haven for both canine companions and their human handlers.

But the story doesn’t end there! The Ephrata Unleashed Dog Park Committee, guided by Mainspring of Ephrata, continues to enhance the park for our four-legged residents. Here’s a glimpse into some recent exciting additions:

• New Gates and Expanded Toy Dog Area: Improved entry points and a bigger space for smaller pups to play freely.
• Fun Tire Playground: New obstacles to keep those playful tails wagging!
• Informative Bulletin Board: Stay updated on park news and events.
• Shady Retreats: Newly planted trees offer welcome shade during sunny days.
• Scout’s Helping Hand: A big thank you to the Scout’s Great 38 Pack for building ramps for the pups!
