A Century of Stories on Main Street
When Isaac G. Sprecher erected his three-story brick building in 1911, he created more than just a hardware store – he built what would become one of Ephrata’s most recognizable landmarks. For nearly nine decades, five generations of the Sprecher family served the community from this beautiful storefront.
The building’s distinctive architecture and famous advertising mural have made it a photographer’s favorite and impossible to miss as you stroll down Main Street.
Where History Meets Today’s Success
What makes the Sprecher Building truly special is how beautifully its history lives on. After housing a quality used-furniture and home décor shop, the building found new life as Pour Man’s Brewing Company, one of downtown’s most beloved destinations.
This transformation showcases exactly what Mainspring champions: historic preservation driving economic vitality. The original tin ceiling, the still-operating 1912 elevator, and that famous exterior mural all remain protected through a preservation easement, ensuring these architectural treasures endure for future generations.
The Perfect Addition to Your Collection
Each ornament is handcrafted locally by artist Steve de Perrot of Pots by de Perrot from white stoneware with a distinctive blue glaze that highlights the building’s intricate carved details. Every piece is signed and numbered, making each one unique.
