Join us for a fun night of hearing stories or sharing your stories with the crowd!
Think of it as a gathering of friends or family, you share a memory or story and NOBODY interrupts to say “That’s not how it went”!
The Main Story will be a monthly ( 2nd Saturday of the month ) gathering where anyone can take a turn at the microphone and tell any story they choose. No more themes to follow.
You can come and simply listen to other people tell stories, or you can sign up to tell your own story. There will be no scoring or judging of the stories. Storytellers register upon arrival and we’ll draw names from a bucket to tell their stories according to the following rules:
- The story should be about 5 to 10 minutes long (the length of time allowed for stories will vary based on participants at each event )
- No political or religious rants
- This is an open mic event, so storytellers sign up and put their names in a bucket when they arrive at the event for a chance to tell a story. We pull names, and you share your story if your name gets pulled. We do not know what any storytellers will share ahead of time, so the content and language may not be suitable for young audiences. The only stories we do not allow are ones that include racism, homophobia, misogyny, or any form of hate speech.
The New Main Theatre Saturday Night Main Story Events will also be featuring the following menu items:
- Hippey’s Hot Dog
Served with a side of chips, add sauerkraut or chili sauce
