Butcher Block Connection is excited to announce the expansion of its business into 1 S. State St., Ephrata—the former Casa Huerta location – while continuing to provide service at 7 S. State St. directly next door.

To celebrate, the public is invited to an Open House on Saturday, October 11, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with a special Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 10:00 AM.

The ribbon cutting is organized by Mainspring of Ephrata, the community’s economic development organization supporting local small businesses and helping them thrive. Owned and operated by Sam Lazar, Butcher Block Connection first opened nearly two years ago at 7 S. State St. and has quickly become a go-to destination for custom woodwork in the community.

This expansion allows the business to offer an even wider selection of handcrafted products, including:

  • Custom butcher block countertops
  • Kitchen islands and tabletops
  • Workbenches and shelving
  • Stair treads and more

Each piece is tailor-made to exact specifications, with a wide selection of sizes, wood types, and types of finishes available. Also, the business keeps over 500 blocks in stock, ready for customers to take home the same day. Whether upgrading a kitchen, adding functionality to a workspace, or enhancing the look of a home, Butcher Block Connection works with customers to bring their vision to life.

Visitors to the Open House will have the chance to meet owner Sam Lazar, learn more about the process of crafting custom butcher blocks, and enjoy light refreshments while exploring the new space. “I am a carpenter by trade, so this expansion is a dream come true,” says Lazar. “We’re excited to continue serving our community by offering high-quality, custom-crafted pieces and giving customers the opportunity to see where the magic happens.” “Supporting entrepreneurs like Sam is at the heart of what we do,” adds Joy Ashley, Executive Director of Mainspring of Ephrata. “When a local business grows, it strengthens the entire downtown community.”
