The Ephrata Police Department will provide information on how a neighborhood can establish a crime watch. A neighborhood watch program consists of a group of people who want to make their neighborhood safer by working together, and in conjunction with law enforcement. Its goal is to deter crime and improve their quality of life, while empowering citizens and communities to become active in emergency preparedness, as well as fight against crime and community disasters.

Each neighborhood will establish their own watch group and will structure the group to fit their own unique needs. Typically, a leader is selected to recruit and schedule the volunteers from their respective neighborhood and act as a liaison with the Ephrata Police.

The Ephrata Police will lead the discussion and provide guidelines on establishing a group. Materials will be distributed to those interested, and a question-and-answer session will follow.
