Celebrate Charter Day at Ephrata Cloister!

Join us for our annual Charter Day at Historic Ephrata Cloister!

The event is FREE and open to the public!

Visit us on Sunday, March 8, from 12 PM to 4 PM at Historic Ephrata Cloister, located at 632 W. Main Street, Ephrata, PA 17522, for a fun and educational celebration of Pennsylvania’s Charter Day! Admission is FREE for this special event.

Enjoy performances by the Ephrata Cloister Chorus in the historic 1741 Meetinghouse, with three 20-minute sessions at 1:30 PM, 2:30 PM, and 3:30 PM. Please note that seating is limited to 120 guests per performance and is timed entry. Wristbands are required for entry and can be picked up upon arrival at the Information Table near the visitor Center along the main pathway.

Other highlights of the day include:

  • Live demonstrations and hands-on activities with historical interpreters, including printing, doctoring, spinning, weaving, and more!
  • A brief guided cemetery tour to learn more about Ephrata’s historic burial grounds.

This event is perfect for all ages, combining history, music, and hands-on learning opportunities. Be sure to check out other historic sites part of the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission on Sunday, March 8, which will also be open with free admission for Charter Day.
